Meet Casey and Randy, an awesome couple from Orlando, Florida. Casey and Randy’s Key West wedding will take place next May at the Hyatt. This is such a fun couple; we are so excited for this wedding to happen! Casey’s last name is Biggles and her friends call her Biggles – I love it! Based on how fun just the engagement photos were with Casey and Randy, I know the wedding is going to be a blast! Casey and Randy have a really great connection and it will surely show at their wedding as it did in this engagement shoot!

Roya & Bradley | Studio Julie Photography | Sunset Key Wedding

Meet Roya and Bradley, a beautiful couple from Rochester Hills, Michigan. They are both doctors who met when Roya was interning at the hospital were Bradley worked! Roya had the most beautiful smile you just couldn’t take you eyes off her! Their wedding ceremony took place on Sunset Key Pier. Roya’s awesome wedding shoes were picked out by Bradley. She looked stunning! At the end of the ceremony Roya and Bradley sat in the sand and a veil was placed over them and sugar was sprinkled on the veil. This was such an interesting and personal touch that really added a lot to the personalization of their wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony the guests were escorted to the Fury boat for cocktail hour and sunset right on the water. After the boat ride everyone returned to Sunset Key’s Paradise Cottage where the wedding party was introduced and Roya and Bradley shared a first dance to “Marry Me” by Train. The decor in the reception was stunning. There were adorable message hearts on the tables that were put in a basket after guests wrote messages to the couple. The cake topper was also a burnt wooden sign that said “We Do”. At each place setting on the table there were different mustaches for guests to put on and the place cards were candles. It looked so silly and fun! There were some wonderful heartwarming toasts then everyone was up and dancing. Key Lime Pie on a stick was passed out for all the guests to enjoy. That was such a fun Key West touch! Roberto also played some great music that got everyone in the mood. Roya hand-made olive oil and lavender soap for the guests to take home. After the reception we departed as everyone headed to Irish Kevin’s for more fun. Thanks for having us as a part of your special day!

Meet Mara and Andrew, a lovely couple from Jacksonville, Florida. I knew from the moment I met Mara and Andrew that they were going to have an awesome wedding; they were ALL about the partying, not about the eating. They had a spectacular wedding at the Casa Marina Resort in Key West, Florida. On the day of the wedding everyone gathered on the West Beach of the Casa Marina. It was such a romantic and beautiful setup. There was a bamboo arch that looked great with the ocean in the background. Before the ceremony Mara and Andrew shared a beautiful first look then we hopped on the trolley with the bridal party and shot some awesome pictures all around Key West. After the ceremony as guests left the beach they could pick up a brush to get the sand off their feet. The sign said “brush the beach from your feet”. It was too cute! There were also flip-flops that guests could wear.

The cocktail hour and reception were in the Flagler Ballroom also at the Casa Marina. Mara and Andrew love to travel so for the seating assignments guests were assigned to tables named after places the couple had traveled together. Some were Paris, New York, Brussels, and Grand Canyon. The place cards were also very cute! Shakedown played some awesome music to get everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. Directly overlooking the dance floor was a lounge area for people to sit a watch everyone get down, it was a super cool idea! We also brought our photo booth along for guests to really get silly and take some hilarious pictures! When it came time to cut the cake, we were all surprised by a Star Wars character right inside the cake! Mara did this because Andrew is a big Star Wars fan. Andrew is also into making homemade beer. They had his specialty beer bottled up for everyone to enjoy. They also provided cute hangover kits for guests to take home!

At the end of the night Mara and Andrew got into a pedicab and guests got on a trolley to head over to Irish Kevin’s for even more partying!

Meet Grace and Derek, a couple who currently resides in Key West, Florida. Grace is a local Key Wester and Derek is from New Orleans. They had their wedding ceremony at the Old Stone Methodist Church, a church they are members of. The ceremony had a lovely home feeling. There were 14 children in the bridal party which was different but very fun and energetic. After the ceremony a band all the way from New Orleans played some awesome local music. Grace and Derek stepped right back inside to dance with the band, it was so fun!

After the ceremony, Grace showed us a spot which meant a lot to her. It was an arch outside her father’s house that she had dreamed about taking a wedding picture under since she was a little girl. It was a really great moment, a lifelong dream had finally come true on this beautiful day. We then hopped in a Rolls Royce and drove all around the island to different locations that had special meanings to Grace and Derek, and we ended up finding some more incredible spots and made new memories there.

While this was going on, the guests were already at the Hemingway House reception getting the party started during cocktail hour. At the entrance there was a clothing line that had all the seating arrangements clipped on for the guests to find their seats. Grace’s favorite color is orange so there was a lot of orange and pink everywhere, the warm colors really livened the spirit. When the bridal party was announced, they played “When the Saints go Marching In,” because they are all New Orleans Saints fans. It was a great touch! The couple danced their first dance to “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. After some more partying and dancing they passed the bouquet to the longest married couple, which ended up being a couple who have been married for over 60 years.. So cute! With the way this wedding went there is no doubt the same will be for Grace and Derek!

We had such a GREAT time at Andrew & Mara’s Wedding that took place down here in Key West, Florida at the Casa Marina. The reception was in the Flagler ballroom and these guests loved to party! It was the perfect mix for our Studio Julie Photo Booth! We had the Photo Booth set up right next to the dance floor. This was perfect for guests to hop right in and then go right back to partying!

Meet Liz and Kyle, a couple from Rockville, Maryland who had their Key West wedding at Southernmost on the Beach. Liz and Kyle met in college; they both majored in Geography at Salisbury University! They both love to travel and work together at FAA making maps for airplanes – how cool! On the day of their wedding Liz got ready at the Southernmost on the Beach Hotel. Once everyone was ready Liz and Kyle shared a beautiful first look outside. We love when couples do a first look; it makes for great pictures and calms the nerves!

Before the ceremony there was a frozen drink cocktail hour. Liz and Kyle had some cute straws made that said “Just Hitched”! We loved this since Liz’s last name was going to become “Hitch”! The drinks and the straws were so cute and super yummy…it really set the tone for the wedding! The ceremony took place right on the beach overlooking the ocean. The theme was beach of course and there were starfish decorating the ceremony. It was a really beautiful and romantic setting.

At the reception Liz and Kyle were announced in and everyone was so excited to see them. They danced their first dance to “Tangled Up in You” by Stained. After some heartwarming toasts the party really got started. Liz said she had never seen her father dance so much in his life! Everyone was dancing and really enjoying themselves. All in all the night was a real success! Thanks for having us as part of your day!

Meet Cheryl and Jim, an adventurous couple from Arlington, Virginia. Cheryl and Jim’s wedding took place at the Ocean Key Resort and Spa in Key West, Florida. On the day of the wedding Cheryl got ready at Colors on White Street and Jim got ready at the Cypress House. The ceremony took place on Sunset Pier. It was a beautiful and romantic setup with starfish and shades of blue flowers accenting the aisle. The was also a wine box; it was a Red Gaiun Martinenga Barbaresco 2004 Italian wine.

Immediately after the ceremony cocktail hour was underway, also on Sunset Pier. The full open bar was a sure sign of a wild time! I think everyone felt like a kid again with the adorable candy bar! When it was time to eat guests found their own seats and the bride, groom, and bridal party were introduced. Cheryl and Jim shared a beautiful first dance to “Someone Like You” by Van Morrison. It was clear that this couple is meant to be! The toasts were hilarious and touching. Once dinner was finished, everyone let loose on the dance floor. The music by Soundwave Productions was great, everyone really got into it!

Meet Marisa and Anthony, a fun laid-back couple from South Florida. Marisa and is a first grade teacher and Anthony is a firefighter in Miami Beach. Marisa and Anthony’s ceremony and reception took place in the rustic gazebo at the Reach Resort in Key West. Marisa and Anthony met through a mutual friend on a blind date. They got engaged in Central Park in New York City. On an evening walk through the park Anthony got down on one knee and popped the question. He had a room at the Waldorf Astoria all set up with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for them to spend the night – so romantic!

Marissa and Anthony chose Key West for their wedding because they both love “the beach, the sun, and drinking”. Well they certainly did come to the right place! Their wedding took place under the gazebo at the Reach Resort. They were completely surrounded by the ocean. The ceremony colors were pale orange, pale yellow, and ivory – it was really beautiful. Marissa and Adam only had a maid of honor and best man, with no other bridal party. It was such a laid-back and romantic wedding. They incorporated Key West into their wedding by Anthony and his best man wearing Kino’s Sandals. Kino’s are manufactured in Key West and are a real staple of the island.

After the ceremony everyone headed back on land to a deck upstairs at the Reach for the reception. When it came time to cut the cake, Anthony pulled out his orange pocket knife. It was such a funny moment that I’m sure they will both always remember. Marisa and Anthony then danced the night away with their friends and family. They didn’t want the night to end! After the reception guests were each given a personalized Tervis tumbler with either a southernmost point buoy or a mile zero sign, another great Key West touch for the guests to always hold on to. All in all this really was a lovely Key West wedding. Thanks for having us as part of your day!

Melissa & Dean | Beachside Marriott | Key West Wedding

Meet Melissa and Dean. A love story that was 15 years in the making. Melissa told Dean a while back that he would marry her someday. Well, that’s exactly what happened!! Melissa and Dean were married at the Beachside Marriott right on the beach in front of their families and friends. Steve Torrence performed the “I Dos” and after some very touching personal vows Melissa and Dean were finally married! We were then off for reception in the ballroom also at the Beachside Marriott. Dean is a big fan of the Beatles and had lots of touches throughout the wedding to incorporate them… Melissa even had a surprise garter with a guitar pick that had the Beatles on it for Dean. Melissa and Dean danced the night away and had an amazing time! Melissa’s dad is also a jewelry designer. Yea… how amazing is that! Make sure you check out their rings… STUNNING!

Tell us about your proposal.
Melissa- We went to New Hope and he took me to a nice spot by the water and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I love that he is old fashioned.

Dean-I took her to New Hope and found a very romantic, secluded spot and took her by complete surprise I got down on my knee and asked her to marry me. I even got chocked up.

How long were you engaged/ how long did you wedding plan?
Melissa & Dean-We were engaged and planned for 2 years. We didn’t want to feel rushed.

Why did you pick Key West? Why did you pick the Beachside?
Melissa & Dean-We picked Key West because it is our place to go and we love it! The Beachside gave us the privacy that we were looking for and it was very romantic.

Any special details you wanted incorporated and why?
Melissa & Dean-We wanted it outside and our family and friends to relax and not worry about anything. We wanted to keep some traditional elements, but stay true to us as a couple. Our love for music, the photo booth reminded us of our childhoods at the Jersey shore.

What was your favorite part of the day?
Melissa- When we were finally announced husband and wife.

Any wedding day advice?
Melissa- relax…enjoy every moment…it goes by quick

Dean- Do it where and when you want. Don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Honeymoon-
Melissa & Dean-We stayed in Key West for a few more days and the went up to Casa Morada in Isla Morada for some alone time it was nice and quiet.

Dolphin Research Center | Family Day

So you may ask, what do we do in a our spare time. Well here’s a good example of how we spend our family time! We love all things natural that the Florida Keys offers and Dolphin Research Center is on the list for sure. We took our little guy up there for some mammal art interaction. Yes, he painted with the dolphins, learned to respect them and got to see how magnificent they really are. All of this in our back yard, we will take that over a shopping mall any day of the week. This is a must do for any of you visiting the Keys. Its located about an hour from Key West on Grassy Key, well worth the drive.
